Morris Bart Hosts United Way of Southeast Louisiana's Young Leaders Movement

Young professionals from Pan American Life Insurance, Shell, Enterprise Holdings and more gathered last week for our Young Leader’s Movement (YLM) "Lunch and Learn" at the Law Office of Morris Bart.

Mr. Bart, a New Orleanian through and through, provided insight on his successful career along with the many triumphs and challenges along the way. He gave advice on the high-level personal branding needed to sell yourself and your company. In his case, it began as young, ambitious lawyer that has since grown Morris Bart, LLC to 15 offices across the Gulf Coast and Arkansas over 300 employees with 102 practicing lawyers.

A life-long philanthropist, Mr. Bart recognizes and embraces opportunities to give back to the community in which he lives and is especially passionate about inner-city youth. Over the years, he has donated to numerous schools, going so far as to single-handedly fund a program for his high school alma mater.

Mr. Bart has been a loyal contributor to United Way of Southeast Louisiana many years and is now a member of United Way's prestigious Tocqueville Society. He spoke on the importance of giving to a non-profit that is reputable and holds true to investing money directly into the community. He stated that donating to United Way “just makes sense” because the overhead cost is significantly smaller than other organizations. He also admires how United Way holds the programs we fund accountable and ensures a common goal with measurable results.

After the conversation, the group mixed and mingled over lunch in the employee break room. To learn more about or join our YLM, join our Facebook group or contact Eileen Moynihan, eileenm@unitedwaysela.org. Be on the lookout for our next event, we hope to see you there!
