Young Leaders Movement

By: Chelsy Rose

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” — Margaret Mead

David Fennelly, Director of Associated Terminals, LLC and Turn Services, LLC., displays support of this and like-minded thoughts followed by actions as he stands united with United Way of Southeast Louisiana’s Young Leaders Movement.

The Young Leaders Movement (YLM) serves as the young professionals’ affinity group of United Way of Southeast Louisiana whose goal is to engage young professionals in the work of United Way and develop the next generation of philanthropic leaders by bringing the passion and philanthropic power of young professionals together to create a better community.

It’s important to engage the next general; one day they will be the leaders and successors of many avenues of today. Exposing the youth to needs of the world enhances their empathy and reduces judgement. It also helps them to develop leadership skills and financial responsibility in other aspects of their lives.

Fennelly, at a young age, embodied these qualities and many more. He enhanced the morals and values he learned as a young man, combined them with social awareness, and was empathetic. This allows him to create opportunities not only for himself, but others. He is just one of many professionals dedicated to YLM and its mission.
