Saints Star and United Way Spokesman to Take the Field in Custom United Way Cleats

New Orleans Saints defensive end, Cam Jordan (#94), is best known for his work sacking opposing quarterbacks and supporting a stout run defense, but it's his support of his local community that makes him a star with us.

This Sunday, December 4th, Jordan will join other players across the NFL as they take the field in cleats that reflect their commitments to charitable causes in the #mycausemycleats campaign. New Orleans artist, Christina Pappion, designed a pair of United Way cleats for Jordan to wear in conjunction with the campaign and we'll have the chance to see them on the field Sunday when the Saints host the Detroit Lions.

"I've had a great relationship with United Way and having done quite a few events with them, I see the tremendous impact that they have on people's lives. My father, who played in the NFL, stressed to our family the importance of giving time and effort to those less fortunate. My cleats are a tribute to the work of United Way and all those lives they touch and we will touch going forward," says Jordan.

United Way and the NFL have a long standing partnership at the national level, but the New Orleans Saints in particular have been a huge champion of United Way of Southeast Louisiana through community events year round.

"One of the great NFL traditions is how our players passionately support causes in their communities and around the globe each year," said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. "They are incredibly creative by nature so we are not surprised how they are seizing the opportunity this week with insprining expressions of their charitable commitments on their cleats, online and through social media."

Thanks to Cam Jordan, The New Orleans Saints and The National Football League for helping to reach your millions of fans and showing each community how we can LIVE UNITED! WHO DAT!!
