We strategically fund programs, support collaborations, convene experts, advocate for change and foster new and needed community services to address the issues based on best practices. We work tirelessly to provide quality health and human services for our community and measure the results to ensure we are making a difference.
How We Work
United Way of Southeast Louisiana serves seven parishes including Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa and Washington. Founded in 1924 as the Community Chest of New Orleans, we are one of the oldest United Ways in the country. Through generous donations we are able to support 113 vital programs in Southeast Louisiana that helped people over 480,000 times in our region. Our approach is making our community a better place. From raising families out of poverty through financial education, to uplifting the spirits of cancer patients through support systems, to giving children a brighter future by raising early learning standards, our work is making a difference. Won’t you help? You can give. You can advocate. You can volunteer. LIVE UNITED.
