Fellow Tangipahoa Parish Residents:

Your 2010-11 contribution has allowed United Way to work with 15 nonprofit partners, making over 50,000 health and human services available to people throughout our parish. Without your Leadership Gift, this would not have been possible.

On behalf of the Tangipahoa United Way Leadership Council, thank you for your willingness to help our local community. I am honored and excited to serve as United Way Campaign Chair for the 2011-12 fundraising campaign.

I will do whatever it takes to address the local needs of our parish. Although the need for services in our community continuously grows and economic conditions remain challenging, I have an ambitious goal to raise even more than the $542,000 you helped raise last year. When we all work together, United Way can ensure that essential services remain available to those who need them.

As a leader in this community, I ask that you renew your Leadership Gift to United Way and encourage others to do the same.

It is comforting to know that the priorities of our community are annually assessed by experienced community volunteers. They review applications and interview agencies to determine program goals, program funding needs and the programs capability to meet our community needs. Additionally, all aspects of United Way’s finances are subject to an annual independent audit by a respected certified public accounting firm. We guarantee that the hard-earned dollars you invest are used to help those who need it most.
