Welcome to United Way's Tangipahoa Regional Office!
United Way is committed to investing in Tangipahoa Parish.
In 2012 people sought help over 70,000 times through United Way partners in Tangipahoa. The reasons varied from basic needs - such as food - to more complex needs - such as counseling for victims of abuse. Thanks to you, we were there to help them.
Our focus is on Education, Health and Safety Net: Financial Stability — the building blocks for a good quality of life. With your help, we invest in solutions to community problems that will improve lives by mobilizing communities to create sustained changes in our community conditions.
It is comforting to know that the priorities of our community are annually assessed by experienced community volunteers. They review applications and interview agencies to determine program goals, program funding needs and the programs capability to meet our community needs. Additionally, all aspects of United Way’s finances are subject to an annual independent audit by a respected certified public accounting firm. We guarantee that the hard-earned dollars you invest are used to help those who need it most.
We are very active in our community. For example, we began the first Louisiana Student United Way at our own Southeastern Louisiana University, hosted a White House Youth Meeting, sponsored the Back to School Back Pack Event with the 21st Judicial Court, donated food boxes over the holidays, conducted our annual community art contest for third graders and we helped pump over $500,000 back into the economy through a free local tax preparation assistance program supported by United Way.
We are looking forward to another great year; thank you for your continued support!
