On April 4th, women of the Women’s Leadership Council hosted an interactive briefing with state representatives, senators, and  a representative of the Governor’s office on the upcoming legislative session.  Patty Riddlebarger, Entergy, opened the meeting with comments reflecting the WLC’s commitment to the women, children, and families of our state.

Almost 100 women turned out to learn about critical issues including Medicaid, Implementation of Act 3 and tax reform, not to mention a $1.3 billion budget shortfall.

The WLC wants to express its appreciation to Senator Daniel “Danny” Martiny, Senator Gary Smith, Senator Jean-Paul J. Morrell, Senator Edwin Murray, Senator A.G. Crowe, Rep. Christopher Leopold, Rep. Jeffery “Jeff” J. Arnold, Rep. Jared Brossett and Stafford Olivia Palmieri, Policy Director, Office of Governor Bobby Jindal for sharing their insights with us.  [view pictures from event]
