New Orleans Campaign for Grade-Level Reading

Early Childhood Education Voter's Guide

This Voter’s Guide is designed to share information about where the candidates for New Orleans Mayor and City Council stand on key issues related to early childhood education. Candidates were invited to share their perspectives on five key questions focused on early childhood education funding, advocacy, access, and support for working families in New Orleans. Their responses are below. All candidates were invited to submit responses. All responses received are published here.

Before submitting their responses, all candidates were also invited to attend and view an educational webinar hosted by the New Orleans Campaign for Grade-Level Reading and its partners. This webinar was designed specifically to help candidates running for New Orleans City Council and Mayor develop a comprehensive understanding of the current state of early childhood education in New Orleans, including its challenges, successes, and opportunities for growth.
