GivingTuesday, December 3, is an opportunity for millions of people around the world to rally around the causes they believe in and build stronger neighborhoods, cities, and regions. United Way of Southeast Louisiana is proud to stand with our Community Partners to make that impact go even farther.
Luke's House: A Clinic for Healing and Hope
We believe that healthcare is a human right. Help us ensure that everyone has access to affordable, quality healthcare by donating to Luke's House!
Luke’s House Clinic is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization providing free medical care, health education, and patient navigation to those in need. The clinic has three full-time staff members and over 120 medical and lay volunteers who work to accomplish this mission. When it opened, Luke’s House saw an average of 10 patients at its weekly Tuesday evening clinic. The clinic has expanded significantly since those early days and now sees about 1,000 patients per year through its multiple services. The clinic provides free primary care, eye exams and glasses, women’s wellness exams including HPV testing and paps, as well as health education, patient navigation, translation services, vaccinations, medical and psychological evaluations for asylum-seekers, and prescription assistance. All of our services are free for our patients and are provided in both English and Spanish.
The mission of Luke's House is to be a place of medical and spiritual hope, health and healing for the people of Greater New Orleans, to provide patient centered experiences for students, and to open a doorway to long-term healthcare solutions.
