Grant Opportunities

United Way of Southeast Louisiana (UWSELA) has a bold vision for eradicating poverty in SELA. Grant-making supports the vision of “equitable communities where all individuals are healthy, educated and economically stable.” This means both a sharpened focus on poverty through supporting the critical programs that form the bedrock of serving our population, and a systems change approach centered on collaboration. Our grant-making is rooted in addressing the complex interplay of symptoms and drivers of poverty in the region.

United Way of Southeast Louisiana offers two Blueprint for Prosperity grant processes:

Collaborative Grants - OPEN

The application process for the Blueprint for Prosperity Collaborative Grants is NOW OPEN. Deadline to apply is December 16. Collaboratives will be notified of decision in June 2020.

What is a collaboration?
Collaboration is the process of two or more people or organizations working together to realize mutual goals. Collaboration could take many forms and the best model depends on the issue and stakeholders involved. Examples of collaboratives include:
- Advocacy Coalition: advocating for policy change
- Affinity Group: sharing knowledge
- Funder Collaborative: pooling resources
- Project Partnership: creating a new program model
- Service Provider Network: referring clients and providing coordinated services
- Collective Impact: cross-sector collaboration on systems change
Who should apply?
Any collaboration in our 7-parish region who is working to address one or more goals in the Blueprint for Prosperity. The collaborative needs to be in one of the stages:
- Planning
- Infrastructure – Backbone
- Infrastructure – Shared Measurement
- Implementation
- Continuous Improvement
