Nancy M. Marsiglia Institute of Justice announces spring class

12-week course honoring the late Nancy Meyers Marsiglia engages participants through an exploration of the U.S. Constitution

NEW ORLEANS - Loyola University New Orleans College of Law and United Way of Southeast Louisiana announced today the first spring class of the Nancy M. Marsiglia Institute of Justice - a U.S. Constitution course named in honor of the late Nancy Meyers Marsiglia.

The 25 participants will take part in the semester-long course conducted at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. The course's 12 sessions will explore the U.S. Constitution through its articles, Bill of Rights and amendments.

The Institute's principal mission is to educate participants about the founding principles of our government and foster civil discourse regarding the American Experiment - the Constitution and Bill of Rights. In addition to traditional study and coursework, sessions feature expert guest lecturers covering wide-ranging constitutional issues.

  • Professor Bill Quigley - Professor of Law and Director, Loyola Law Clinic & the Gillis Long Poverty Law Center

Marsiglia, a founding member of United Way's Women United, devoted her entire life to social and political justice. Whether advocating for better educational opportunities for children or equal rights for women, she passionately threw herself behind every effort to make equality under the law a reality. 

Upon completion of the course, participants will be recognized as a Distinguished Fellow of the Nancy M. Marsiglia Institute of Justice.
