United Way Opens Programmatic Grants Application Period

United Way of Southeast Louisiana is pleased to announce its FY22 (July 2022 – June 2023) Blueprint for Prosperity Programmatic Grants, which will offer one year of funding to qualified nonprofits addressing education, health, and economic stability disparities across Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, and Washington parishes.

Marsiglia Institute of Justice announces spring 2022 cohort

NEW ORLEANS - United Way of Southeast Louisiana and Loyola University New Orleans College of Law announced today the 16 community members selected for the spring 2022 cohort of the Nancy M. Marsiglia Institute of Justice, a 12-week course on the U.S. Constitution. 

This diverse group of participants, representing the Institute’s seventh class, have committed to thoughtfully study U.S. government while engaging in and promoting civil discourse.

NEW ORLEANS – United Way is #1 on The Chronicle of Philanthropy's annual list of America's Favorite Charities. This ranking of the top 100 charities is based on cash support — the total value of money and stock received as gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations. The Chronicle of Philanthropy focused exclusively on cash and stock because that money comes directly from individuals. It excludes government grants, donated products, and contributions to donor-advised funds.

NEW ORLEANS – On the one-month anniversary of Hurricane Ida's landfall, United Way of Southeast Louisiana (UWSELA) announced Wednesday a $1-million investment in local rebuilding efforts via long-term recovery groups (LTRG) serving Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa and Washington parishes.

After hosting its 12th regional relief pop-up in Ironton on Monday, United Way of Southeast Louisiana (UWSELA) announced its third round of pop-ups, offering basic supplies and applications for free legal aid via Southeast Louisiana Legal Services to vulnerable residents affected by Hurricane Ida.
