Supplies, resources, meals available to local residents
WHO & WHAT:
United Way of Southeast Louisiana (UWSELA) will host a second relief pop-up in lower Plaquemines Parish to provide food, basic supplies and applications for legal aid via Southeast Louisiana Legal Services to vulnerable parish residents affected by Hurricane Ida.
Meals will be provided in partnership with locally-owned restaurants.
Gifts to UWSELA’s Hurricane Ida Relief Fund will support efforts to create more pop-ups across the region.

WHY:
One in two households in Southeast Louisiana struggled to make ends meet before COVID-19 hit the region. Now, following Hurricane Ida, those families and countless more are unable to stabilize their households. UWSELA aims to provide immediate relief – via feedings, supply giveaways and applications for legal aid via Southeast Louisiana Legal Services – to help our region’s most vulnerable families weather the storm.
