Algiers Fire Fund

Give NowUnited Way of Southeast Louisiana’s partners at the Louisiana Red Cross are responding to the needs of the 14 families affected by the Cypress Run Apartments fire in Algiers.

A Red Cross team was onsite providing comfort, care, and financial assistance to help the clients meet their immediate needs following the fire. Their financial assistance program allows the client to decide what their most immediate need is, as it is different for each person or family.  Some utilize it for a temporary place to stay, others for items that they may need to replace such as food or clothing.

Even with immediate relief assistance, these families – many of which live below the ALICE® threshold and are unable to save for an emergency – face numerous long-term challenges as they begin to rebuild their lives with limited resources.

United Way SELA has partnered with the Algiers Economic Development Foundation to help meet the long-term needs of these families and we hope you will join us. Please consider a gift to the Algiers Fire Fund to help the affected families today as the holiday season approaches.
