This Call to Action was issued in 2016 to raise awareness about the challenges of third-grade reading facing New Orleans. The Call to Action kicked off New Orleans’ most recent community-wide planning process to address third-grade reading proficiency.

COMMUNITY SOLUTIONS ACTION PLAN

The Community Solutions Action Plan was developed in 2016 and 2017 with the engagement of more than 70 people representing 50 organizational and individual partners in a format used by hundreds of communities across the United States that have come together to improve third grade reading in their local communities. This plan outlines the challenges, goals, strategies, and long-term plans for the New Orleans Campaign for Grade-Level Reading and is reviewed annually.
