Local High Schools Race to Complete Most Service Hours

Don't let the lack of buzzers, bull horns, or painted chests fool you, Mission Ignition is no ordinary competition. Over the next three weeks, students from nine New Orleans-area high schools – Haynes, Lusher, Riverdale, Benjamin Franklin, East Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Taylor, Isidore Newman, and John Ehret - will compete to complete the most service hours and win the title of Mission Ignition champions.

Watch the video above to hear more about the student-run competition from Mission Ignition Board Member and Lusher student Carson Koeffler and United Way’s Haley Mack. Students can view available missions and sign up to participate at UnitedWaySELA.org/MissionIgnition2020.
