Mission Ignition 2023 Volunteering Events

Saturday, March 11

9AM—NOON: Bayou Sauvage Urban National Wildlife Refuge

Volunteers will be cleaning trails, removing invasive plants, and planting trees in the Refuge greenspace.


Saturday, March 18

9AM—NOON: Port Sisters

Volunteers will help construct garden beds, dig out a future pond, install fencing, and more. 


Saturday, March 25

Choose from four (4) volunteer opportunities.

1. 9AM—NOON or 1PM—4PM : CRCL's Tree Planting (morning and evening shifts)

This event will include a 10-minute boat ride to the planting site. Volunteers will be clearing trails, removing invasive plants, and planting trees in the Refuge greenspace.

2. 9AM—NOON: Lower 9th Ward Food Pantry

Volunteer tasks may include: unloading food donations, restocking shelves, supporting client intake, loading groceries into client vehicles, and manage food stock.

3. 9:30AM—2PM: The Green Project
 
Volunteers will help with projects in Salvage Store and Paint Recycling departments! Volunteers must attend Volunteer Orientation before volunteering for a shift.
 
4.Choose your time slot between 9AM—2PM: Green Light New Orleans
 
Volunteers can prepare and decorate rain barrels to combat subsidence and flooding or work in our teaching garden.
