NEW ORLEANS - There’s no question – our political climate is more divisive than ever. What can be done to help friends, families, and neighbors find common ground?
The 23 newest graduates of the Nancy M. Marsiglia Institute of Justice, honored at a ceremony on Dec. 5, are prepared to reclaim civil discourse, one kitchen table at a time.
The Marsiglia Institute, an initiative of United Way of Southeast Louisiana and Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, is a 12-week U.S. Constitution course that brings together a diverse group of community members to examine founding principles of U.S. government through the articles, Bill of Rights, and amendments of the Constitution; and understand the document’s relevance in modern-day America.
Through discussion, lectures, and insight from expert guest speakers, course participants gain the skills and knowledge to lift our community through civic engagement and advocacy.
