Volunteers will raise support for efforts to end poverty in the region
NEW ORLEANS – United Way of Southeast Louisiana announced Friday the 10 local business leaders comprising the nonprofit’s 2022-23 Campaign Cabinet, which plays a key role in fundraising for United Way’s effort to end poverty in the region.
Ronnie Slone, president of The Slone Group, will chair the cabinet for a second year.
“We’re delighted to have a talented and dedicated group of leaders on the Campaign Cabinet this year who will connect local businesses to opportunities to make a positive impact through United Way,” said Slone. “With over half of households in our region unable to afford the basics, it’s imperative that we work together end systemic disparities in health, education and financial stability, and create a stronger Southeast Louisiana for everyone.”
UWSELA’s 2022-23 Campaign Cabinet members include:

Last year, cabinet volunteers helped raise over $12 million to support UWSELA’s internal initiatives, grants to community partners, disaster relief, advocacy and volunteerism.
“Moving the needle on poverty is an urgent need that will require all of us uniting to help our neighbors,” said Michael Williamson, UWSELA president and CEO. “We are grateful to the thousands of donors who partner with United Way to create a brighter future for our community and encourage all workplaces, foundations and individuals to consider joining our fight.”
