Make United Way Part of Your Mother's Day Tradition

Urban dictionary defines mom as "The woman who loves you unconditionally from birth, the one who puts her kids before herself and the one who you can always count on above everyone else. Just telling her your problems makes you feel better because moms always know how to make it all go away.  Even if you fight, know that she's just looking out for your best interests."  Mom: what an amazing role to play, and often it's a role that is thankless and goes unnoticed.  It's so awesome that we at least have this one day to celebrate the women that have raised us, inspired us, pushed us, and loved us unconditionally.

We would be honored to help you celebrate your mom this Mother's Day. Please consider donating a gift to United Way SELA in honor of your mom. Your donation will help us on our mission to eradicate poverty in southeast Louisiana.  Your gift in honor of your mom can help us create equitable communities where all individuals are healthy, educated, and economically stable.

Further, if you love amazon.com as much as I do, you could always buy your mom's gift and help UWSELA at the same time. When you visit, smile.amazon.com, and choose United Way of Southeast Louisiana as a charity of choice, Amazon generously donates a portion of the sale back to UWSELA. How awesome is that?! You get to impress mom with the gift she's been hinting at for months, and you get to give back to your community. It's a win win!

And lastly, life gets busy, and there never seems to be enough time to spend with mom doing something you both love and that makes both of you proud. In June, UWSELA will host our annual DAY OF ACTION. This is an amazing opportunity to give back to our community with a hands on approach.  We hope that you and your mom (and your entire family) can join us as raise awareness of the value volunteers bring to our communities and mobilize volunteers to effectively and efficiently meet local needs.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there and all those who play the role of a mother. We love you. We celebrate you. We are proud to know you.
