United Way of Southeast Louisiana Launches Education Website and Survey
New Orleans, LA (Nov. 17, 2015) – United Way of Southeast Louisiana (UWSELA) and United Way Worldwide (UWW) have teamed up to launch an initiative to help support the implementation of higher standards in the public schools of southeast Louisiana. Working in collaboration with education, business, and community leaders, UWSELA’s Greater Expectations initiative focuses on supporting families and schools to help ensure that K-12 students are better prepared for life and work.

United Way’s Alexis de Tocqueville Society exemplifies big hearted people. The international philanthropic society was named for the Frenchman Alexis Charles Henri Maurice Clerel de Tocqueville, who critiqued our country’s evolving political and social structure in ‘Democracy in America’ (1835 and 1840) and declared himself most impressed with Americans’ generosity.
