United Way launches disaster fund ahead of Tropical Storm Barry

Website to collect donations for recovery efforts across SE Louisiana

NEW ORLEANSUnited Way of Southeast Louisiana, in partnership with WWL-TV, announces the UWSELA Disaster Fund.  All funds raised will support relief and recovery efforts through grants to community partners and nonprofit organizations providing direct services to impacted individuals and families.

All funds will support immediate relief and long-term recovery efforts through community grants to partners and nonprofit organizations providing direct services to assist with recovery.

UWSELA is also encouraging residents of Southeast Louisiana to dial VIA LINK at 2-1-1 to access up-to-date information and available recovery services from local partners and government agencies in their respective parishes. A toll-free call to 2-1-1 will connect residents to a community resources specialist who will help locate critical resources that are available locally.
