As we stand at the threshold of a new year, I am in awe of the incredible journey we’ve embarked on throughout 2023. In the true spirit of reflection, let’s take a moment to bend our thoughts inwards, acknowledging the profound impact we’ve collectively made on the lives of those in Southeast Louisiana.

At the heart of our mission are our United Way Prosperity Centers, the Blueprint for Prosperity, its innovative internal initiatives and grant-funded partners, and, of course, the incredible support from individuals like you. Your generosity has been the driving force behind our efforts to bend the arc of economic prosperity, making it accessible to all households facing challenges across our region.
Ninety-nine years ago, United Way of Southeast Louisiana set out on a mission, and today, we stand as an example of the incredible power of collective action. In 2024, our bold aspirations will be fueled by our unquestionable desire to create equitable communities with quality health, education, and economic opportunity for every person everywhere.
United Way is not just an organization. We are a movement, the first of our kind. Rooted in the belief that change cannot happen alone and hope is not a one-man (or woman) band. As we approach a centennial of service to Southeast Louisiana, we’ve evolved into one of the most significant experiments of our time—a force greater than the sum of its parts, unstoppable in the pursuit of eradicating poverty, and adept at adapting to rapidly changing times.
As we close the chapter on this remarkable year and recharge for the exciting impact our centennial promises, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to you. Thank you for your love, your generosity, and your care for others.
Remember, without “U,” there is no “Way.”
