United Way, 504HealthNet launch first local Spanish, Vietnamese COVID-19 hotlines

NEW ORLEANS – United Way of Southeast Louisiana and 504HealthNet Thursday announced the launch of the first local Spanish and Vietnamese COVID-19 hotlines to reach underserved populations in the Greater New Orleans region and provide education on how, where and when residents can get COVID-19 vaccines.
The partners are encouraging residents, regardless of immigration status, to call for assistance to address the misinformation and myths about the pandemic and the COVID-19 vaccine, which have impacted public attitudes toward health care and trust in health care systems.
Both hotlines are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The hotlines are staffed by trusted community advocates fluent in both English and their respective hotline language.
Additionally, the partners are working together to develop communitywide vaccination events and collaborate with health care providers to relay the ongoing needs of residents.
English-speakers and individuals outside of Greater New Orleans are encouraged to call the Louisiana Department of Health’s COVID-19 vaccine hotline at 1-855-453-0774.

United Way, 504HealthNet comienzan las primeras líneas directas locales de COVID-19 en español y vietnamit
United Way of Southeast Louisiana (UWSELA) y 504HealthNet anunciaron el miércoles la iniciación de las primeras líneas telefónicas directas y locales de COVID-19 en español y vietnamita, que atienden a las poblaciones desatendidas en la región de Nueva Orleans y brindan educación sobre cómo, dónde y cuándo los residentes pueden obtener vacunas de COVID-19.
UWSELA y 504HealthNet alientan a los residentes a llamar y pedir ayuda, sin tomar en cuenta de su estado migratorio, para poder informar a los clientes que llaman sobre la desinformación y los mitos sobre la pandemia y la vacuna COVID-19 que han afectado las actitudes del público hacia la atención médica y la confianza en los sistemas de atención médica.
Ambas líneas directas están disponibles de lunes a viernes de 8 a.m. a 5 p.m.

Las líneas directas están atendidas por defensores comunitarios confidenciales que dominan el inglés y el idioma de la línea directa correspondiente.

Lần đầu tiên bắt đầu có một đường dây cho người nói tiếng việt và tiếng Tây Ban Nhà, trong cộng đồng chưa được phục vụ trong Greater New Orleans, đề giáo dục cho Hiếu biết, công đồng có thể chích nghúa COVID-19 vác xin.
